Atheism A-Threat

TXatheist says "we" live in TX and wanted the 10 Commandments taken down. Well, I lived in Texas about all my life and I don't want it taken down. So TXatheist doesn't speak for me.

TXatheist thinks you can't put the 10 commandments in a public place for a secular reason. Actually, you can. For instance, if historically a place had its roots in Christianity you can put up an icon for that secular reason. Many public and government owned hospitals have Christian names (usually named after Saints) yet they don't force the 10 Commandments down people's throats.

TXatheist says the Treaty of Tripoli says American was not founded as a Christian nation without mentioning the controversy of Article 11.

TXatheist doesn't want coercive prayer in school. Neither do I. But TXatheist does want the coercive teaching of evolution in our schools. Typical.

TXatheist says Firefly should keep an open mind. We hope TXatheist will, too.

Conclusion:

TXatheist will not be honest about America's founding on Christianity. If he was honest he'd address the controversy over the Treaty of Tripoli. But as always he just assumes that America was always secular in its history.

Blasphemy Challenge

TXatheist says he's an atheist "because there is no God." One of the books TXatheist is holding in his hand is a book by atheist Dan Barker who says that you can't prove the non-existence of something. How then can TXatheist make a universal negative claim that there is no God then? Has he traveled throughout the whole wide world at the same time and at the same places simultaneously, thus proving there is no God?

TXatheist says God is nothing more than an imaginary friend for people who can't deal with reality. So, people like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi and Sir Isaac Newton couldn't deal with reality? Does TXatheist like insulting people like this?

TXatheist says reality is that you are born and then you die once and that's it. And how does TXatheist know this? Has he personally experienced this? He only assumes this without giving any argument.

And he says because we only live and die once that's why he's an atheist. Yet he doesn't give any evidence of justification for this. He thinks the person who makes the claim should have the burden of proof. Since he made the claim we live and die once, he should give us a justification since it's his burden of proof.

Conclusion:

TXatheist won't prove any of his claims. And he hasn't shown God to be an "imaginary friend." Furthermore, he refuses to show that theists who believe in the existence of God can't deal with reality. He only has blind assumptions. No reasoning or evidence at all!
